FrontLineJiuJitsuAcademy Business Idea of structuring a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) academy, in a city in the state of Virginia, arises from the observation of opportunities and demand for martial art in the region, from the proposing partners: THE PURPOSE OF THE ACADEMY: RICARDO'S LINEAGE AND HIS OBJECTIVE IN JIU-JITSU Ricardo's career begins with his MASTER – Mestre Moacir "Boca" –, who started his journey in Recife, capital of the state of Pernambuco, in the Northeast Region of Brazil. Mestre Moacir Boca left Recife – still at brown belt – and went to train with Mestre De la Riva, in Rio de Janeiro, with whom he got his black belt. After becoming a black belt, Master Moacir Boca migrated to MMA with the Carlson Gracie Team and, even so, maintained his Jiu-Jitsu training with Master De La Riva. In 2000 there was an important "division" in the Carlson Gracie Team, and some members created the Brazilian Top Team; Mestre Boca accompanied – as an athlete – this group that set up the BTT. In 2001 there was a new separation, now in BTT, where some members moved to the United States and created the famous American Top Team (ATT). Mestre Boca remained connected to BTT for a while, until he received an invitation from ATT to fight in the USA in MMA and to be a teacher at the ATT Academy. Ricardo started Jiu-Jitsu in 2005 with the Machado Jiu-Jitsu Team. After 3 months, the teacher had to return to Brazil and he brought Mestre Boca to teach; thus begins the bond – the story – with Mestre Boca. Over time, Mestre Boca left ATT and set up his own academy: Boca De La Riva. Since he started in Jiu-Jitsu, Ricardo has always had the desire and spirit for competitions. In 2007, he made the decision to dedicate himself to Jiu-Jitsu with this objective, when he started training 100% focused on becoming the best in the sport. Mestre left the De la Riva team and joined Alliance. This year, at purple belt, Ricardo reached his main objective, becoming world champion in the super heavy category. This year, he decided to move to Brazil, but continued with his relationship and loyalty to Mestre Boca, who continued his graduation until black belt. When he returned to Brazil, he fought Jiu-Jitsu and, at the same time, made a migration to MMA. This one sport, which he trained from 2012 to 2017, allowed him to meet several athletes such as Patricio Pitbull, Fábio Maldonado, Demian Maia, Minotauro, Rony Jason, Daniel Sarafiam, Shogun, Danilo Marques and Rafael Lovato, between others. He had 6 professional fights in his career. He auditioned to enter the TUF UFC in Las Vegas. In 2017 he trained at ATT with renowned athletes such as: Júnior "Cigano", Santiago "Argentino Gente Boa", Cara de Sapato and Thiago "Marreta", among others. In this period, he was also a corner in the UFC on 3 occasions. From 2013 to 2017, he was a member of an academy affiliated with the Alliance team. At the end of 2017, he decided to retire from MMA and return with full focus to Jiu-Jitsu. received an invitation to teach at an Academy in Virginia, USA, where he is still working as a BJJ teacher and following with your daily professional activity. Ricardo represented Alliance for 10 years (2011-2021). The 2021 Jiu-Jitsu World Championship was the last Championship who fought - for the Alliance team -, where he reached the 3rd place in his category. Today he has the desire to open a BJJ Academy in the United States and start promoting his own name and team. Ricardo still has within himself – the same will to fight and be on top of the world in Jiu Jitsu. At the same time, he wants to focus on his own academy, conquer his own students and be able to have the chance to pass on all your acquired experience to people. Its objective is to show how efficient Jiu-Jitsu is and how this martial art can change people's lives. Ricardo wants to be in this environment and help people. He wants to be 100% involved with Jiu-Jitsu, training the your own Team, doing your internal championships - in your own academy - and keep competing (alongside with your students).
